Romsey allotments in Cambridge

About Romsey allotments

Romsey allotments are owned by Cambridge City Council and managed by a volunteer committee of the Romsey Town & District Gardening Society. We have two friendly sites: one is off Stourbridge Grove on Coldhams Lane and the other is a short walk away between Coldhams Lane and Fairfax Road. Both are located just to the east of the city centre.

Our committee

The Society is run entirely by volunteers and is responsible for keeping the sites in good order. Meetings are held every 6 weeks for just an hour or so. Members help with whatever they prefer at a time that suits them – whether it be looking after the shop, delivering newsletters, running this website or trimming back the wildlife site. You can contact the commitee by clicking here.

Useful bits of info

Members of our allotment society are kept up-to-date by a notice board on each site, occasional newsletters and email bulletins, as well as friendly chat!

·      Mulch/soil conditioner deliveries. From time to time, the Council will deliver grass clippings and other material to the fenced off mulch area or on the allotment path. Please help yourself, but be considerate to others who will also like some and don’t take too much. This material is for your allotment only and should not be taken home.

·        A skip is usually delivered to the allotments by the Council in late Spring and Autumn. Rubbish from your plot only please - no weeds, green material or anything from home. The skip is normally put in alternate locations so that it is nearer to different plots each time.
